‘Vincenzo’ Actor Kwak Dong Yeon Confirmed to Star in the New Series Written by Yeon Sang Ho

Kwak Dong Yeon will star in the new TV series Monstrous (literal title).

According to multiple insiders, Kwak recently joined the new TVING original series Monstrous. It revolves around the archaeologist who solves a bizarre case.

For Monstrous, Train to Busan and Peninsula director Yeon Sang Ho joined hands with My Holo Love writer Ryu Yong Jae to pen the scripts. Director Jang Kun Jae, who won the DGK Award at the Busan International Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Award at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards with his film A Midsummer’s Fantasia, was tabbed as the director.

Climax Studio, which produced the film Concrete Utopia and Netflix’s Hellbound, will produce the upcoming series. Previously, it was reported that Peninsula actor Koo Kyu Hwan is reviewing his appearance.

Meanwhile, Kwak made his debut in 2012 with the TV series My Husband Got a Family. Since then, he starred in various works, including Inspiring Generation, Love in the Moonlight, and Fight for My Way.

But last year, he showed an imposing presence when he made a cameo appearance in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Then in May, he proved himself to be the rising star when he flawlessly pulled off a villain with irresistible charm in Vincenzo. Recently, the actor joined the food variety show Delicious Rendezvous.
