Hani, Kwak Si Yang and Kim Min Kyu confirmed to join JTBC’s upcoming drama IDOL (IDOL: The Coup).
The story is about a struggling idol group that needs to achieve one last success before disbanding. Hani will play Kim Je Na from an idol group, Cotton Candy, a struggling singer who didn’t see a single success in six years since their debut. Kwak Si Yang will play Chae Jae Hyuk, the CEO of Cotton Candy’s label, Starpeace Entertainment. He will transform into a left-brained owner who has an icy cold mind. Kim Min Kyu will play Seo Ji Han from the most popular idol group Mars among all Starpeace artists.
IDOL is a youthful story about young adults who quits their jobs to seek their new dreams. It is a story about those who work hard to achieve their dreams and make a brave step to pursue the next goal with no regret.
The Bride of Habaek 2017, Misaeng screenwriter Jung Yoon Jung and Clean with Passion for Now director Noh Jong Chan joined hands to produce the series.
It will premiere in the second half of the year.
