Recently, Sandara Park parted ways with YG Entertainment. She took her Instagram to leave a heartfelt message yesterday.

“In 2004, I came to an unfamiliar Korea with no one to lean on and knowing nothing. To me, YG was the house, the hometown, the family that took care of me and taught me. And now I’m trying to leave my rock, my everything, to make a new start.

I fell in love with the awesome seniors who looked so hip and became a part of the “YG family.” And it’s been already 17 years since I joined the company, thinking that I can grow and mature not just as a colleague but also as a family member.

So many experiences and being on stage with fabulous members!! It felt like a dream to receive so much love.

When 2NE1 disbanded, it felt like my whole world was coming apart.

But for the five years since, I’ve tried lots of different fields with the mindset of ‘Let’s start again from the beginning!’ And I think the past five years became a great asset for me and helped me be more positive nowadays.

However, the dearest wish inside me was to get back on the stage again. I really want to show myself standing on stage again for the Blackjacks (2NE1’s fandom) and fans who have loved and cheered me on. This was also an unwavering dream since I was in the second grade in elementary school.

In a way, I’m more excited than ever about the third act of my life, which could seem more like a challenge than stability.

Most of all, people, bonds, and the time I’ve spent with people are important to me. Saying goodbye has always been the most difficult thing for me. Nevertheless, I have made this big decision for the dream that I want and those who have been waiting for me to achieve that dream.

Lastly, my beloved 2ne1 members, I hope you continue to perform in various ways, and I pray that we will be together someday. Congratulations on our 12th anniversary!”

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment has officially announced Sandara’s departure from the agency on the 14th.
