GFRIEND will not be renewing their contract with Source Music. They have decided to officially disband after 6 years of working in the music industry.
Source Music released a statement saying,
“Our contract with GFRIEND will come to an end on May 22nd. After careful consideration and serious discussions, we decided to go our separate ways. GFRIEND received so much love from the fans thanks to their diverse images, performances, and music. They opened a new era of girl groups. We heartily thank GFRIEND for being with us for six years. We ask that fans send support and love to those who’ll continue working in various fields. Source Music will always support GFRIEND members who are about to start a new chapter in their lives.”
GFRIEND consisting of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji, made their debut in January 2015. They received a lot of love thanks to their innocent image. They have many hits under their belt, such as “Rough,” “Me Gustas Tu,” and “Glass Bead.”
