The new film Midnight (working title), starring Jin Ki Joo and Wi Ha Joon, will be released as the TVING’s second original film.

According to Starnews, Midnight will be taking the same steps as Seobok. In other words, it will be released both in theaters and TVING as TVING original film. Midnight illustrates the life-threatening hide-and-seek between a psychopathic killer and a deaf woman who works at a call center.

Homemade Love Story actress Jin Ki Joo plays Kyung Mi, a deaf woman who works as a sign language counselor at a call center. Her chaser, the serial killer Do Shik, is played by 18 Again actor Wi Ha Joon. The two began filming the movie in Septer 2019 and completed it later that year. It was originally scheduled to be released in the first half of last year, but it was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus.

There are many reasons why TVING chose Midnight as its second original film. One is the fact that CJ ENM’s affiliate invested in the movie. But the biggest reason is the film’s high quality and high expectations for the main actor Kim Ji Joo.

Meanwhile, Midnight will confirm its release date once the Cannes Film Festival releases the official invitations. Midnight was likely to be invited to the festival (Producers Network) last year, but it was foundered when the event itself was canceled due to COVID-19. If Midnight is invited to the Cannes International Film Festival this year, it will be released in early July. But if not, it will be released sometime in June.
