Shin Hye Sun may be returning to the big screen with a new thriller film.
According to media outlets, the actress was offered the leading role in Open the Door (literal title).
Open the Door is a sequel to the thriller movie Door Lock, starring Gong Hyo Jin, released in December 2018. Door Lock begins as an ordinary woman who finds signs of intrusion in the studio where she lives alone. It is a Korean remake of the 2011 Spanish thriller Sleep Tight. Amid rave reviews, the movie surpassed the break-even point, becoming a box office success.
Open the Door illustrates what happens when an ordinary woman living alone tries secondhand deals. Insadong Scandal and Perfect Game director Park Hee Gon took charge of production.
Shin Hye Sun will play the woman who runs into a series of mysterious incidents after buying a used washing machine. Last year, the actress released two movies, Innocence and Collectors.
After finishing its major castings, the filming will come out in the first half of this year.
