One sentence from BTS’s Jungkook and kombucha vendors are screaming in joy.
On Feb 27, Jungkook communicated with fans via V LIVE, and during his session, he was seen enjoying a yellow beverage. When fans asked about his drinks, he answered that it’s kombucha and that he ordered the kombucha powder for his health and drinks about two bags per day.
His remarks created a “kombucha craze” among his fans as they began ordering the product online, leading to the shortage in Korea. Later, the company that sells the product expressed their joy via their Instagram, “We have sold a month’s worth of supplies in just three days…thank you.”
According to the industry report, kombucha sales have skyrocketed about 500% compared to the previous week.
This is not the first time that Jungkook lead a “sold out” craze in Korea. Back in 2019, one ARMY asked him what fabric softener he uses, and he answered with a specific brand name. Shortly after his remarks, that products were sold out everywhere. And earlier this year, Jungkook’s perfume which was captured on “BANGTANTV” for just a few seconds, was sold out after it was spotted on real-time search trends.
