Director Lee Joon Ik is returning with a new historical black-and-white film.
The Book of Fish that delayed its release indefinitely in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic has confirmed its release next month.
According to Megabox Plus M, the investment distribution company, The Book of Fish tells the story of Jeong Yak Jeon (Jeong Yak Yong’s brother), a scholar who is charmed by the ocean after being exiled to Heuksando, writing a book of fish after meeting a young fisherman who wants to escape from the sea. The two will bring about a charming story of the two characters bonding over their interest in the ocean and becoming friends beyond their status and age.
Veteran actor Sol Kyung Gu challenged his first historical genre as Jeong Yak Jeon, while Byun Yohan plays a young fisherman.
Meanwhile, The Book of Fish, director Lee’s second black-and-white film following Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet, finished filming in September 2019, but the release was delayed all the way to March 31, 2021, due to the pandemic.
