After making their debut last year and rapidly growing, ENHYPEN has won the rookie award at their first attendance at the 30th High1 Seoul Music Awards. The award meant a lot more than usual as it was the 30th Anniversary of SMA. On the day of the award ceremony, ENHYPEN demonstrated a fierce stage of their debut song “Given-Taken.”

Starting out their year with a rookie award from the SMA, the group expressed their gratitude on set. Member Ni-Ki said, “It’s more so especially as it is a rookie award which can only be awarded once. It’s all thanks to ENGENEs (fandom name) and everyone who helped us shine. Moving forward, we will show us continuously improving.”

On this day, ENHYPEN was listed along with their agency artists BTS and TXT. Leader Jungwon said that it is an honor to be able to attend such an award ceremony which he has only been seeing through the TV. “Above all, it’s more meaningful to receive awards besides our respectful seniors,” he stated.

When asked about future plans, Heeseung raised expectations saying “We are to have our first fan-meeting on Feb 6th and 7th. We want to provide a lot of content to communicate with ENGENEs.” Sunghoon also said that they would like to be a group known for their improvements, just like the meaning behind their team name. “We want to be the rookie group which people are reminded of when thinking of groups which debuted in 2020,” said Jay.
