Alternative-pop band Leenalchi has revealed their new song “Please Don’t Go.”
Released on the 3rd, “Please Don’t Go” is the band’s new song for 2021. It can also be seen as the extension of the unfinished story of Sugungga.
Based on the Korean traditional ‘pansori’ storytelling, “Please Don’t Go” has been remade as a dance song with an exciting plot twist. As an alternative-pop band, the two bass and drums base their performance on New Wave and Post-punk. The unique singing of the vocalists is also made more prominent. The groove created by the bass line and the vocals make the song as catchy as their previous hit-song “Tiger is Coming.”
The popularity of Leenalchi’s “Tiger is Coming” kicked off with the promotional video uploaded by Korean Tourism Organization. It exceeded 500 million views online and the song was nominated in five total categories including the Album of the Year for the 18th Korean Music Awards.
With their new song “Please Don’t Go” released, Leenalchi will also reveal CD versions of Sugungga on Feb 15th, as it used to be only available as an LP and digitally.
