Park Si Hoo has been offered to play the main character in the Korean remake of the popular American TV series The Mentalist.
On Jan 5, the actor’s agency Hoofactory shared, “Park Si Hoo was offered a role in the Korean remake of The Mentalist and is reviewing it.”
The role he was proposed to play is the main character, psychiatrist Patrick Jane. He works as an independent consultant for the police in order to catch the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. He gives advice and insight from his many years as a fake psychic medium and uses his keen powers of observation, his knowledge of psychology, and his genius to help lead the investigations. In the original series, Simon Baker played the role.
The Mentalist ran from Sept 23, 2008, until Feb 18, 2015, broadcasting 151 episodes over seven seasons on CBS. The show has garnered many fans even in Korea with the actors’ excellent performance and captivating storytelling.
The Korean remake of the series will be directed by The Producers director Pyo Min Soo.
