Best Friend, starring Jung Woo and Oh Dal Soo, blasted into 10th day at No. 1 on the box office chart.
According to the Korean Film Council, Best Friend recorded 13,911 admissions on Dec 4, maintaining the box office’s top spot. After it was released on Nov 25, the movie attracted a total of 278,001 moviegoers. Collectors came in second, drawing 6,025 viewers. Now, the cumulative audience stands at 1,402,860.
Run ranked third with 5,219 moviegoers, while the musical film The Prom, which was released ahead of its Netflix release, attracted 2949 viewers, landing at No. 4.
The total number of moviegoers this day (Dec 4) was 42,531. This figure raised expectations that the number would exceed 50,000 on the weekend. However, with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s decision to close down theaters from 9 p.m. starting on Dec 5, the number of moviegoers is expected to drop significantly, once again putting a red light on the movie industry.
