The claim that BLACKPINK is being neglected at the 2020 APAN Music Awards, which will be held for the first time in history, is drawing keen attention.

Recently, APAN Music Awards ranked this year’s top 10 artists: Kang Daniel, THE BOYZ, MONSTA X, BTS, Seventeen, IZ*ONE, Lim Young Woong, GOT7, NCT 127, and TWICE.

However, BLINKS are not convinced by the result of their top 10 selection. First of all, they claim that BLACKPINK ranked 10th in the pre-voting conducted on an app and that their album sales and performances in 202 were better than any other girl group this year.

In fact, 5 teams that have made it into the top 10 in the early voting, which takes up 40% of the final selection, were dropped in the final ranking – Lee Chan Won, Stray Kids, ASTRO, TXT and BLACKPINK.

If we lay out BLACKPINK’s achievement this year, their first full-length album THE ALBUM sold 689,000 copies in the first week, which is almost twice the previous record. Then they sold more than 1.53 million albums in total, easily beating TWICE, IZ*ONE, and other girl groups. This record is comparable to NCT 127’s record sales.

Moreover, the group’s pre-released song “How You Like That” topped the Melon Charts for 21 days. This is one of the three songs (of all the songs released by girl groups) that made it to the top of the chart and the only song that stayed on the top spot for more than a day.

Therefore, BLINKS are saying that they cannot understand the judges’ scores system. Soon, they started to spread the hashtag “#APAN_TOP10_Explain” on Twitter, demanding the organizer’s explanation.
