SM Entertainment’s new girl group aespa has shown off explosive popularity in the midst of their debut.

On November 17th, aespa released their debut single “Black Mamba” on various music streaming sites and unveiled the official music video.

Upon release, the reactions were hot. In just one day, “Black Mamba” entered music charts in 95 countries. This includes charting on Apple Music charts in 93 countries and iTunes charts in 48 countries.

Many are looking forward to aespa’s global popularity. As of 5 PM KST, the music video for “Black Mamba” surpassed an astounding 20 million views.

“Black Mamba” is described as a powerful dance song track that combines signature synth sounds and strong bass. It also has a catchy hook that seems to be casting a magical spell.

The lyrics also contain a larger story about their universe. The song will be about a being called “Black Mamba” that not only interferes with the connection that the aespa members and their ae-Avatars have, but also threatens their world.

Overseas consulting agency ‘REELSCORP’ said, “By building an even more elaborate universe for the next generation’s group, SM definitely showed the unique color that it is known for. Based on aespa’s performance post-debut, it appears that the group’s overseas influence will only become bigger.”
