2PM’s Nichkhun has been included in the cast lineup for the upcoming romantic comedy film Hong Kong Love Story.
The artist’s agency JYP Entertainment confirmed the news, saying, “Nichkhun has been cast in the lead role in the upcoming Hollywood film Hong Kong Love Story.”
Hong Kong Love Story is a romantic comedy directed by Keoni Waxman, and Nichkhun will work with Wu Assassins and Little Fires Everywhere actor Byron Mann, award-winning Polish actress Dominika Kachlik, and legendary Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang.
Based on the real-life experiences of Mann, Hong Kong Love Story follows Mann and Nichkhun as scions of tycoon families as they stumble their way around Hong Kong to search for the meaning of love and friendship. Their friendship will be tested when a Polish model played by Kachlik walks into their lives.
Nichkhun starred in Brother of the Year, which was the second highest-grossing film in Thailand in 2018, as a friendly and soft-hearted charming man, Mochi.
Aaron Shershow, who acted as production manager for Pacific Rim: Uprising, will serve as executive producer, and the cast was brought together by Emmy-nominated casting director Leslie Woo. The production will start in earnest next month.
