From MONSTA X’s Shownu to Sung Si Kyung – Flashy Lineup of ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’ OST Singers

Tale of the Nine-Tailed made headlines for its splendid lineup of singers who participated in the OST.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed tells the story of a male gumiho named Lee Yeon who has settled in the city and a fearless television producer who is determined to track him down. Since the first episode, the drama took the lead in the Wednesday-Thursday viewership competition and received explosive responses. On top of this, Nell’s Kim Jong Wan, Sung Si Kyung, Lyn, HYNN, Yang Da Il, MONSTA X’s Shownu, and more will participate in the OST to maximize the mysterious atmosphere of K-Fantasy.

“I’ll Be There,” sung by MONSTA X’s Shownu, is Lee Yeon’s main theme song. This is his first OST song in about 5 years since his official debut. Shownu, the leader and the lead vocalist of MONSTA X, perfectly showed off his prowess with the song. “I’ll Be There,” which features the rock sound, starts with a mysterious feeling that reminds you of gumiho and provides an unexpected twist when the rock-based powerful sound is poured out from the chorus. The lyrics that show a man’s determination to find his destiny across time and space is also impressive.

Nell’s Kim Jong Wan’s “Blue Moon” received explosive reactions when it decorated the first episode’s ending scene. Kim Jong Wan’s charming voice flowed out at the moment when Nam Ji Ah injected an anesthetic into Lee Yeon’s neck, maximizing the tension between the two while also highlighting the overwhelming visuals.

In the fourth episode, Sung Si Kyung’s not-yet-released song came out when Nam Ji Ah stroked Lee Yeon’s head after inviting him into her house. (watch from 1:15) The combination of Sung Si Kyung’s soft voice and lyrical melody raises expectations for future changes in their relationship, hinting at the “tickling” atmosphere between them. Meanwhile, Sung Si Kyung, who guest appeared on SBS Power FM Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time, chatted about how he ended up singing the OST song after Lee Dong Wook called him when he was having a drink.

“OST Hit Maker” Lyn has also been included in the lineup. Since she produced multiple hit songs through her OST works, her new song is expected to perform well on the music chart. HYNN, who won the title of the youngest Mask King in The Masked Singer after making her name known with “The Lonely Bloom Stands Alone,” and Yang Da Il, who quickly emerged as a popular singer-songwriter, will also participate in the OST.
