The main character of YG’s “WHO’S NEXT” poster turned out to be AKMU’s Suhyun.
On Oct. 5, YG Entertainment announced that AKMU’s Suhyun will be releasing her first-ever solo song on Oct. 16. In the coming soon poster, Suhyun’s UFO license is drawn on top of the space illustration, raising curiosity.
Back in August, YG announced that AKMU will release new music three times by the end of this year. And the poster indicates their first comeback will be as Suhyun’s solo song. This is Suhyun’s first-ever solo song released under AKMU since her debut six years ago, drawing keen attention.
AKMU (Akdong Musician) caught the eyes and ears of music fans when they first appeared on SBS’s K-pop Star Season 2 in 2012 and made their official debut through YG in 2014. Since then, the duo showed off their musical potential, producing numerous hit songs over the past six years. Recently, Suhyun has been chosen as a singer to sing the Korean version of Mulan‘s “Reflection,” making headlines.
YG said, “As you can guess from the unique concept teaser released today, Suhyun’s first solo song will go beyond your expectations and be a new yet very popular song. Suhyun, who can deliver emotions in a clear voice, will show a new side of herself. You can look forward to it.”
