JYP Entertainment’s nine-member girl group NiziU will make their official debut in Japan on Dec. 2.
JYP Entertainment announced that NiziU will make their debut single Step and a step in Japan on Dec. 2. The album contains a total of four songs, including the title track of the same name. It has been reported that the title song was composed and written by JYP head producer Park Jin Young.
NiziU was formed through an audition program Nizi Project conducted in Japan by JYP and Sony Music of Japan. The pre-debut digital mini-album Make You Happy, released in Korea and Japan shortly after the group officially formed, showed high expectations as it topped Oricon’s weekly combined album rankings. Also, they became the first girl group in J-pop history to accumulate 100,000 downloads with the digital album and surpass 100 million views on YouTube with the “Make You Happy” music video in just two months after its release.
