KARD’s J.Seph (28; Kim Taehyung) will be enlisting in the military.
According to his agency DSP Entertainment, “KARD J.Seph will be enlisting for his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier on October 5. We will follow J.Seph’s wish to enlist privately with his family, so details regarding his enlistment, including the time and location, will not be announced. Please send your support and encouragement to J.Seph, who will make his return as a more mature artist.”
J.Seph also posted a handwritten letter on KARD’s official fan cafe and his Instagram.
“Hello, this is KARD’s J.Seph (Taehyung).
In 2011, at the age of 20, I went to Seoul to begin my career as a singer, and I was able to spend my precious 20s in a meaningful way.
In 2020, I will be enlisting in the military (on October 5) at a somewhat older age than others. Although I’m a little afraid of the soon-to-be new and unfamiliar environment, I’m also looking forward to my life with a new identity.
I will faithfully carry out my duty as a Korean man and proudly return to everyone’s side.
Until then, please show support and kindness to Matthew, Somin, and Jiwoo as KARD.
I’ll cherish all of the love and energy I’ve received from everyone over this time, and I’ll be sure to stay healthy while I’m gone.
From, Taehyung”
J.Seph debuted as a member of KARD in 2017 and has garnered success through songs like “Rumor,” “Don’t Recall,” “Bomb Bomb,” and more.
