BTS visited the Blue House, marking the second time that the group and the South Korean president met!
As the “Youth Leader” representatives, BTS attended the “1st Youth Day” celebration held at Cheong Wa Dae and gave a speech. The President and his wife were in attendance.
BTS spoke of their honest experiences as youths, even before they became the successful idol group they are today. Their speech conveyed hope to the youthful generation, and support and encouragement to the older generation.
BTS was also the first to be given the “2039 Present,” which signifies a “youth’s start” as it is to be opened in 19 years. BTS donated this gift to the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, and it will be opened in 19 years on the 20th Youth Day.
President Moon also proved that he is a fan of BTS!
Kang Min Seok, the spokesperson to the President, said, “BTS reminds me of a group of youth at their peak when listening to their songs and watching their performances. Although it is sometimes hard to follow idol groups’ music, this is not the case for BTS; I can resonate with their lyrics. I like both their music and dance performances.”
According to the Kang Min Seok, President Moon believes that BTS has fans all across the age groups, and the BTS is representative of the K-pop culture. Previously, he congratulated the group on reached #1 on the Billboard 100 chart with their single “Dynamite.”
