2020 SDA: Brazilian Telenovela ‘Orphans of a Nation’ Wins the Grand Prize + ‘When the Camellia Blooms’ Takes Home 5 Awards

The winners of the 2020 Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) were announced.

On Sept. 15, the 2020 SDA held its “untact” ceremony online due to the spread of COVID-19.

The Grand Prize went to the Brazilian telenovela Orphans of a Nation, which tells the story of refugees and immigrants who have left their countries of origin for various reasons amid the Syrian civil war.

Emmy Award winners Thelma Guedes and Duca Rachid said, “The filming site was always full of joy. Above all, our story was about empathy and compassion for both the giver and the receiver. Love and compassion are important factors that enable us to live in a happier world.”

In addition, KBS drama When the Camellia Blooms was honored with a total of five awards, drawing keen attention.
