‘Train to Busan’ Sequel ‘Peninsula’ Pre-Sold to 185 Countries

Peninsula was successfully pre-sold to 185 countries.

On June 30, distribution company NEW said, “’Peninsula,‘ which was officially invited to the Cannes International Film Festival in 2020 and received worldwide attention, achieve the feat of pre-sale in 185 countries before its official release.”

Set four years after Train to Busan, Peninsula tells the story of Jung Seok (Kang Dong Won) receiving an inevitable proposal to return to the peninsula, which is completely isolated from the outside world due to the zombie attack, and securing a designated truck within the time limit to carry out the mission of escaping the peninsula. In front of Jung Seok, who needs to escape the peninsula in time, the Unit 631, who lost their humanity, and a slew of zombies that have become even stronger, appear.

Contents Panda, an affiliate of NEW, said, “’Peninsula,‘ which shows the expanded worldview of ‘Train to Busan,‘ was one of the hottest topics among buyers even before the Cannes Film Festival. We’ve been continuing pre-selling the movie, and as a result, achieved pre-sales in 185 countries.”

Peninsula will be released on July 15.
