EXO‘s Lay will release his new single Jade today (May 20).
Jade, which will be released on major music sites at 12:00 p.m. on May 20 KST, is a pre-released song from Lay’s fourth solo album to be released later.
The new song “Jade” uses Woo Hee in the Chinese play Farewell My Concubine as a motif, and tells the story of fateful love. The song is an oriental hip-hop song with hip-hop beats added to the melody based on the traditional Chinese musical instrument “cucurbit flute,” heralding a perfect harmony of Eastern and Western music.
Lay participated in writing, composing, and arranging the song, drawing attention. Also, hip-hop producer Murda Beatz, famous for producing albums of Drake, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Migos, and Chris Brown., participated in producing the album, further enhancing the level of perfection.
