At the center of the popularity of Hospital Playlist is definitely the impressive chemistry and brilliant performances of five actors, Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung, and Jeon Mi Do. What are the scenes, picked by actors themselves, that best showed their friendships?
Jo Jung Suk – The Passionate “AROHA” Singing Scene in Episode 3
In the third episode, the scene where five friends singing “AROHA” at the top of their lugs in karaoke in the past is shown. Ik Jun (Jo Hung Suk) is the first to appear as he sings the song with his ‘serious concept,’ but soon loses his part to Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do). Then he gets pushed aside as Jung Won (Yoo Yeon Seok), Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho), and Suk Hyung (Kim Dae Myung) join to sing the chorus, drawing the laughter. Jo Jung Suk said, “It was a scene that I had such fun filming as if I was really having a fun time with my friends,” adding that the scene showed the best chemistry among the five.
Yoo Yeon Seok – Mukbang of Kalguksu (noodles) in Episode 2
The scene where the five get together to eat kalguksu/noodles, which appeared in the second episode, presented the five friends’ natural chemistry that proved their 20-years long friendship, drawing enthusiastic responses from viewers. On top of that, the different personalities of each five were revealed at a glance, adding to the fun. Yoo Yeon Seok said, “I remember all of us being surprised as we filmed the scene because we worked so well together like we were real friends for a long time.”
Jung Kyung Ho – ‘Tiki-Taka’ Between the Five Friends in Episode 3
The conversation between the five is always delightful and interesting. In the third episode, Jun Wan says, “I’m good at singing this song. I’ve made several cry as I sang this,” as he listens to “AROHA.” Then there’s the ‘Tiki-Taka’ of conversation between them: “That’s right. In Hawaii,” “Hawaii?,” “What?,” “Why?,” “Something happened in Hawaii,” “Of course.” Jung Kyung Ho said, “I think we can feel the depth of the friendship among the five who seem to strangely resemble each other even though they have completely different characteristics.”
Kim Dae Myung – First Meeting at the Warehouse in Episode 1
“I think it is a special scene where the history of their friendship began and the opportunity that kept the five together so far,” said Kim Dae Myung, citing the accidental first meeting of the five freshmen. This scene depicted five freshmen, who left the site of orientation for the same reason, gather coincidentally in a warehouse. It was the moment when their 20-years long friendship began, increasing the level of immersion for the viewers.
Jeon Mi Do – ‘Variations on the Kanon’ Ensemble in Episode 4
The scene where the five get together to play “Variations on the Kanon” surprised the viewers, drawing keen attention. It started as Suk Hyung chose Kanon, the only song he could play till the end, to be the first song for them to play together after the formation of the band in the past. The continued scene of them struggling to learn the music caught the eye. Jeon Mi Do said, “We prepared for about three months. It was the hardest work, but I felt good as I watched the scene aired, since I remembered the process of practicing together for a long time. The result clearly shows the chemistry and the passion of the five friends so I think it will remain in my memory.”
