Ong Seong Wu, Shin Ye Eun and Kim Dong Jun have confirmed their appearances in JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama, Chances of Going from Friends to Lovers (literal translation).
Chances of Going from Friends to Lovers is a romance drama that depicts a woman who hid her true feelings after a long crush and a man who now realizes his true feelings and tries to reveal his love. It is directed by Choi Sung Bum, who was greatly loved for his work, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, and written by Cho Seung Hee, who won the 2017 JTBC Drama Script Contest.
Ong Seong Wu will be returning to the small screen in a year since Moment at Eighteen. Lee Soo, played by Ong Seong Wu, is a photographer and a self-centered man when it comes to love. He is an incarnation of self-satisfaction, self-confidence and self-love. His world starts to shake as Kyung Woo Yeon (Shin Ye Eun) interrupts his peaceful life.
Ong Seong Wu said, “I’m very nervous and excited to be able to greet you with new drama and character this year. Please look forward to the drama ‘Chances of Going from Friends to Lovers,’ which is full of youthful charms and the story of Lee Soo. I’ll work hard to show you my improved and cooler sides.”
Shin Ye Eun, who made quite an impression with A-Teen, plays the role of Kyung Woo Yeon. Kyung Woo Yeon had a crush on her friend Lee Soo for 10 years. She is also the type of person who is completely immersed in what she likes, as shown in her action of quitting her job and starting a new career as a calligraphy artist. After having a crush on a person for ten years, Lee Soo and Ohn Jun Soo (Kim Dong Jun) walks into her life.
Shin Ye Eun said, “I’m grateful and honored to be able to greet you with a new work. I’m so happy to meet you with a warm drama in such warm days. I’ll do my best to repay the love and support I received. I’ll do my best to become an actor who grows up one step further, so I hope you look forward to it.”
Kim Dong Jun will play Ohn Jun Soo, a fateful man who came into Kyung Woo Yeon’s life. He is a person who ‘has everything,’ including wealth, academic background, appearance, and personality. After a heartbreaking breakup, he shuts his mind but upon meeting Kyung Woo Yeon, who resembles himself, he changes.
Kim Dong Jun said, “When I first read the script, I got excited by the character, Ohn Jun Soo, who is very different from the characters I played so far. Now that I am appearing in such good work, I’ll do my best to portray the growth and emotions of Ohn Jun Soo.”
Chances of Going from Friends to Lovers will premiere in the second of the year.
