BTS became the first Korean singers/group to sell 20.32 million copies in K-POP history.
According to the March 2020 album chart released by South Korea’s official music chart, Gaon Chart, on April 9, BTS recorded accumulated sales of 20,329,305 copies through a total of 14 albums, starting with their debut album, 2 COOL 4 SKOOL, in 2013 to MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 released in February.
Among them, seven consecutive albums became million-sellers: WINGS sold 1.13 million copies, WINGS: Your NEVER WALK ALONE sold 1.02 million copies, LOVE YOURSELF: Her sold 2.22 million copies, LOVE YOURSELF: Tear sold 2.21 million copies, LOVE YOURSELF: Answer sold 2.59 million copies, MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA sold 3.77 million copies and MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 sold 4.17 million copies.
BTS has already surpassed 20 million albums in accumulated sales on the Gaon album chart in February. After surpassing 10 million copies in November 2018, BTS once again showed its potential by selling more than 10 million copies in just a year and three months.
An official from Big Hit Entertainment �said, “BTS became the first singer in the history of K-POP to hold the record of ‘best record sales’ by exceeding 20 million accumulated album sales.”
Meanwhile, BTS’s MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 has remained in the upper rank of Billboard 200 for six consecutive weeks, ranking 25 on the latest chart after topping the chart on March 7.
