ScreenX, CGV’s first multi-faceted theater in the world, won the gold medal at the Edison Awards.
On April 6, CJ 4DPLEX announced that ScreenX was honored with the gold medal in ‘Media and Visual Communication �” Entertainment’ category of the 2020 Edison Awards held in New York on the 1st.
The Edison Awards is an prestigious American invention awards inspired by the ingenuity and persistence that Thomas Edison showed through his inventions. At the awards ceremony, ScreenX was highly praised for its groundbreaking ideas beyond the frame of existing theaters and for its innovation that brings the cinematic space to life.
Frank Bonafilia, executive director of the Edison Awards, said, “The judges rated ScreenX as an innovative technology that would change the game of the film industry more than any other works”
To which, Kim Jong Yeol, CEO od CJ 4DPLEX, said, “It is a great honor that all 4DX, 4DX Screen and ScreenX were recognized for their technology. We will work with small and medium-sized CG companies to make movies even more realistic for both domestic and foreign audiences.”
