Back in January 2019, The Ministry of Education announced a survey of universities on academic irregularities. They explained that Dongshin University discretionally made a policy of recognizing the entertainment activities as attendance, but because it isn’t an actual policy, they have decided to cancel the credits and degrees of Yoon Do Joon, Lee Gi Kwang, Yong Joon Hyung, Jang Hyun Seung, Seo Eun Kwang, Yook Sung Jae and Cho Ga Yeol.

Dongshin University said at the time, “The university granted grades and degrees based on school regulations and department regulations, but I admit that some of the regulations lacked flaws,” adding, “We will closely examine measures to protect graduates, who followed our principles, from getting disadvantages.”

Then in February 2019, the university filed an objection with their decisions, but the Ministry of Education rejected it, causing the university to eventually file an administrative suit with the court.
