Lee Sang Yi sat down for an interview to discuss his latest series, Bloodhounds, and expressed his satisfaction with the portrayal of his character in the show.
The actor revealed that he actually got to watch the series after it’s release. He said, “The editing had me on the edge of my seat. Some scenes were a bit different from how they were described in the script, but I think it was done intentionally to make the series more gripping. It made me think that the director really put a lot of thought into it.”
The actor mentioned how much he appreciates the positive feedback from viewers about his chemistry with Woo Do Hwan. He explained, “Woo Jin is always there for Geon Woo, no strings attached. He genuinely cares about him. I loved seeing viewers say how awesome it would be to have a supportive and caring brother like Woo Jin. It made me really happy to know that people enjoyed our bromance.”
Bloodhounds is the first action project he starred in. He explained, “In Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Youth of May, my characters never really admitted their feelings for their crushes. But then, I got the chance to do an action-packed drama for the first time in my acting career. In this show, I wanted to showcase different aspects of my character – someone who appears tough with big muscles but also has a soft spot for his friend. I think those contrasting sides really came through in the series.”
When asked if he would be in the second season of Bloodhounds, he went, “Hell yeah, count me in! If there will be a second season, it’s going to be more intense and epic. Geon Woo and Woo Jin will level up and will match the power of those badass villains who have become even stronger. One thing I know for sure is that the next season is going to be a spectacle, with way cooler action scenes.”
