Twenty-Five and Twenty-One (working title) will take over the time slot after Bulgasal: Immortal Souls’ season wraps. The production team announced the February 12th premiere date for the series on December 24th.
Twenty-Five Twenty-One stars Kim Tae Ri, Nam Joo Hyuk, WJSN’s Bona, Choi Hyun Wook and Lee Joo Myung. Set in 1988, the show revolves around a group of young men whose dreams were taken away.
Kim Tae Ri will play Na Hee Do, a professional fencer for the national fencing team who experiences struggles when her high school team gets disbanded due to the IMF’s financial crisis. She is a fiery and fearless character who never gives up.
Nam Joo Hyuk is journalist Baek Yi Jin, the eldest son of a family that fell apart due to the IMF financial crisis. He works very hard to help his family maintain a living.
As previously announced, WJSN’s Bona will play Na Hee Do’s rival Go Yoo Rim, another professional fencer in the national team. She is a charismatic fencer who is friendly and adorable when she is not competing. Choi Hyun Wook plays a unique character called Moon Ji Woong, a star influencer who aims to become a highlighted user on Cyworld, Korea’s top social media network of the early 2000s. Lee Joo Myung is set to play Ji Seung Wan, a class representative who excels in academics but has a rebellious nature deep inside.
The upcoming drama is about Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin, who first meet when they are 22 and 18 years old and begin their love story four years later after their first meeting. It tells a youthful tale of romance, growth, and friendship.
