Kris Wu, a former member of EXO, has faced allegations of raping underaged minors. Soon, the case was turned over to Beijing police for an official investigation.
According to Chinese local news on July 22nd, the Chaoyang branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau informed that they are currently looking into Du Meizhu’s claims against Kris Wu and his lawsuit against Du after she allegedly blackmailed the musician.
The ongoing police investigation revealed that Kris’ manager invited Du Meizhu to Kris Wu’s house on December 5th, 2020. She came over to the site, believing it was an audition for the role in his music video. She recalled about ten people were drinking and partying at Wu’s house. On the following morning, Du and Wu engaged in a physical relationship and had exchanged contact on the WeChat app until April 2021. Du began exposing their romance on the internet after losing contact with Kris Wu in June.
The police reported that they are still looking into the multiple allegations over sexual abuse of minors against Kris Wu and will be taking strong legal measures without leniency.
