Will Lee Byung Hun Star in a Netflix Romance Movie ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love?’

Netflix has obtained the feature film rights to Maureen Goos’ high-teen romance I Believe In A Thing Called Love, with Lee Byung Hun scheduled to appear and produce.

The upcoming romance film follows an overachieving senior in high school, Desi, who tries to exploit the laws of K-drama romances to find herself a boyfriend. Lee will star as Desi’s father.

Mary Lee of A-Major Media and Charles Pak of BH Entertainment will produce alongside Lee Byung Hun. Goo will be on board to executive produce.

Mary Lee shared, “Maurene found a way to tap into the fun world of K-dramas through the perspective of a girl who learns that life is something that you can’t control, and Yulin’s voice was perfect for the adaptation. And Goo continued, “I Believe in a Thing Called Love has found a home with Netflix! I’m so proud of my amazing team: Yulin, A-Major, and BH Entertainment. It’s a thrill to share this exciting news finally.”

Lee Byung Hun is most recognized in the US for his appearances in The Magnificent Seven, the G.I. Joe trilogy, and Terminator Genisys. And in South Korea, he is mainly known for his roles in Iris, The Age of Shadows, and Ashfall. UTA, BH Entertainment, and McKuin Frankel represent him.
