Netflix has confirmed the February 20th global release of its upcoming original film Pavane, unveiling both a teaser poster and trailer that promise a quietly emotional love story.
Pavane follows three people who have shut themselves off from the world, only to slowly become light for one another as they face life and love again.
The teaser poster immediately draws the eye, showing Mi Jeong (played by Go Ah Sung) and Gyeong Rok (Moon Sang Min) standing beneath a sky streaked with shimmering aurora lights. Surrounded by white snow, the two share a kiss that feels as if they are the only people left in the world, setting a romantic and dreamlike tone.

The teaser expands on the story, centering on three young adults carrying different kinds of emotional scars. Mi Jeong lives hidden away from the judgmental gaze of others. Yo Han (Byun Yo Han) is a free spirit with a love for rock music. Gyeong Rok is a young man who has given up on his dreams to survive reality. Their paths cross for the first time in a department store parking garage, where an unexpected connection begins.
Curious about the mysterious woman he keeps seeing in the dark garage, Gyeong Rok asks Yo Han about Mi Jeong. Yo Han casually explains that employees call her “the dinosaur”, sparking intrigue about who she really is. Soon, Gyeong Rok finds himself unable to stop looking her way, as Yo Han’s narration sets the tone: “That summer, he fell in love for the first time in his life.”
As Mi Jeong and Gyeong Rok grow closer, Yo Han steps in as an enthusiastic matchmaker, using his quick wit and playful charm to bring lightness and laughter. The subtle shift between Mi Jeong and Gyeong Rok captures the tender nervousness of first love just beginning to bloom. The trailer closes with the line “Love is an illusion. As always, for all who are in love”, underscoring the film’s signature blend of sweetness and quiet ache.
Pavane premieres exclusively on Netflix on February 20th.
