Disney Plus has confirmed the August 23rd premiere date for Twelve, an ambitious series that transforms Eastern zodiac mythology into a sprawling universe.

Twelve is a high-concept action-hero series that follows 12 celestial beings—angels disguised as humans—who secretly protect humanity from the forces of evil. Drawing inspiration from the Eastern zodiac, these guardians each embody one of the 12 zodiac animals, forming a vast universe that stretches from ancient times to the modern day.

Ma Dong Seok, aka Don Lee, the global star of The Outlaws franchise and Marvel’s Eternals, takes on the lead role of Tae San, the Tiger Guardian and the most powerful among the 12. As the leader of the celestial warriors, Tae San must unseal his ancient power and rally the others to protect the human world from chaos.

Opposing him is Park Hyung Sik, who plays Ogui, a mysterious villain symbolizing the crow. Following his acclaimed performance in Buried Hearts, Park brings a sharp intensity to the role.

Joining the supernatural lineup is Seo In Guk as Won Seung, the playful Monkey Guardian aiming to be the next leader. Lee Joo Been plays Mi Reu, the Dragon Guardian whose power has been sealed since a battle centuries ago. Ko Kyu Phil takes on the Pig Guardian Do Ni.

The series also features: Kang Mina as Kang Ji, the Dog Guardian—swift and fierce in battle, warm-hearted at her core; Sung Yu Been as Jwidol, the quick-thinking Rat Guardian; Ahn Ji Hye as Mal Sook, the spirited Horse Guardian; Regina Lei, making her Korean debut, as Bangwool, the Snake Guardian; and veteran actor Sung Dong Il as Marok, the only human chosen by the divine, tasked with overseeing the 12 Guardians.

Twelve, poised to open new horizons for action-hero content, will premiere on Disney Plus on Saturday, August 23rd, with a total of 8 episodes to follow.
