Tom Cruise recently met BTS member Jin, and the internet is loving it.
As Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning nears one million viewers in Korea, a surprise appearance by Tom Cruise on BTS’s official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, has gone viral. The special video features Tom Cruise joining Jin on an episode of Run Jin—a solo content series hosted by the idol on BTS’s official YouTube channel, which has 80.3 million subscribers.
In the video, Jin asked Tom Cruise, “Do you know BTS?” and Cruise immediately replied, “Yes!” Jin then shared that the first PG-13 movie he watched as a teenager was a Mission: Impossible film, expressing his longtime admiration for the actor and the series.
Tom Cruise returned the love, saying, “Korean culture is truly amazing. The people are incredibly warm, the history is fascinating and the food is just delicious.” He also reflected on the iconic stunt from a later Mission: Impossible film, where he hung from a plane spinning 2,438 meters above the ground. He described it as “the most physically demanding thing I’ve ever done, like cramming a lifetime’s worth of weight training into five minutes” and “the hardest stunt of my career.”
Jin responded eagerly, saying, “I’ve always dreamed of becoming an IMF agent,” referring to the fictional Impossible Mission Force from the franchise.
Later, the two bonded over one of Jin’s favorite Korean dishes, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), which Jin introduced during their meal. In a post-credit scene, Jin remarked, “I recommended mulhoe today. I’d feel really proud if I heard he enjoyed it.
Reportedly, Cruise later posted a reaction video reviewing his mulhoe tasting experience.
