Netflix’s Squid Game Season 2 continues its spectacular run, maintaining its #1 position on Netflix’s Global TOP 10 for the third consecutive week, cementing its status as a global phenomenon.

The new season, which follows Gi Hun’s (Lee Jung Jae) return to the game seeking revenge against Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), has captured audiences worldwide with deeper character narratives.

From January 6th to January 12th, the series recorded 26.3 million views, securing its position at #1 in both English and non-English series categories across 93 countries. With a cumulative viewership of 152.5 million in just three weeks, Season 2 has already claimed its place as Netflix’s third most-watched series of all time, following only Squid Game Season 1 and Wednesday. It has also set a new record as the most-watched subsequent season in Netflix history.

The series’ enduring appeal is further demonstrated by Season 1’s continued success, which ranks #3 on Netflix’s Global TOP 10 non-English series list with 8.7 million views.

Viewer reaction remains enthusiastic, particularly regarding Young Hee and Cheol Su. Fans worldwide have shared their thoughts: “Pure and creepy in the best way,” “Young Hee and Cheol Su are somehow cute but there’s something chilling between that cuteness…” Others express anticipation for Season 3: “Eagerly waiting for Season 3, expecting more plot twists,” and “An amazing series that brilliantly combines suspense, social commentary, and visual artistry. Eagerly anticipating what will happen in Season 3.”

Squid Game Season 3 is set to premiere in 2025.
