Ha Ji Won is turning up the intensity in Climax.

In episode 5 of the ENA drama, her character Chu Sang A is pushed to the edge after being accused of orchestrating a murder. Determined to survive, she stops at nothing—and her darker turn drives the episode’s gripping tension.

Amid a panic attack tied to the allegations, Chu Sang A comes face-to-face with Hwang Jung Won, played by Nana, who came to save her. Though she learns Jung Won had been secretly monitoring her at her husband Bang Tae Seop’s (Ju Ji Hoon) request, Sang A responds coolly to her apology, saying, “I don’t trust anyone. You don’t need to be sorry.” The unexpected calmness shifts something between them, especially when Jung Won quietly tells her, “I feel bad for you.”

Later that night, Sang A breaks down in tears while thinking of a colleague who died because of Oh Gwang Jae (Seo Hyun Woo). As Jung Won comforts her, wiping away her tears, the moment deepens into something more—culminating in a sudden kiss that heightens the emotional stakes.

“I’ll stop things from getting any worse and survive, no matter what,” Sang A tells Jung Won. “I hope you find your own life too,” she adds, signaling her full shift into survival mode.

With public opinion turning against her, Sang A makes a bold move by confronting Park Jae Sang’s (Lee Ga Sub) mother—the son she had allegedly targeted. Kneeling in tears, she pleads, “I never imagined something like this would happen. Please forgive me just once,” shaking up both mother and son. But when Park Jae Sang finally appears, Sang A instantly switches, greeting him with a chilling, “Long time no see, Park Jae Sang,” closing the episode on a striking note.

Ha Ji Won anchors the episode with sharply shifting emotions, capturing Sang A’s desperation in real time—and her unexpected chemistry with Nana has viewers talking.
