IU and Byeon Woo Seok are stepping into a royal marriage.
MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Perfect Crown unveiled its first couple poster, offering a glimpse at the relationship between the two leads ahead of the series premiere.
Set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea, the drama follows Sung Hee Joo (IU), a commoner, and Prince Yian (Byeon Woo Seok), the late king’s second son. Facing limitations tied to their social status, the two decide to enter a contract marriage in order to overcome their circumstances.
The newly released poster captures the pair moving forward side by side as they pursue their respective goals, hinting at the partnership they will build as husband and wife. Their elegant appearance also draws attention. Dressed in refined outfits and accessories inspired by royal tradition, IU and Byeon Woo Seok look strikingly like a royal couple posing for wedding portraits.
The production team shared that while Sung Hee Joo and Prince Yian may appear to have everything on the surface, both characters carry their own emotional struggles. “Through their contract marriage, the two will gradually overcome their limits and come to share the same dream,” they shared.
Perfect Crown, one of the most anticipated dramas of the first half of 2026, will premiere April 10th at 9:40 PM KST on MBC.
