Park Sung Hoon is officially back, taking on his first romantic lead role in the upcoming K-drama The Practical Guide to Love.
He is joined by “Rom-Com Queen” Han Ji Min, Lee Ki Taek, and director Lee Jae Hoon, and is looking to turn the page on past controversies.
The series follows Lee Ui Young (played by Han Ji Min) as she navigates the chaotic world of blind dates, caught between two very different men: the steady, reliable Song Tae Seop (Park Sung Hoon) and the unpredictable Shin Ji Soo (Lee Ki Taek).
Park faced intense backlash in 2024 when he accidentally posted—and quickly deleted—a Squid Game parody poster that contained adult content on social media while promoting the Netflix series. Though he clarified it was a misunderstanding, the incident sparked a heated online debate.
Reflecting on his return, Park shared, “I’m approaching my life and my work with much more caution and seriousness than before.” He added that the chance to work with Han Ji Min and the relatable story drew him to the project. After playing chilling villains in The Glory and Squid Game, he said, “Rather than feeling burdened, I was excited to try a romantic comedy.”
