Lee Jong Suk and Lee Jun Hyuk are set to lead two highly anticipated live-action romance series based on bestselling novels that share the same universe.
The actors have been cast as the leads of Iseop’s Romance (literal title) and A Casual Lie (literal title), two popular long-form novels by author Kim Eon Hee that first gained a following as web novels before expanding into print and building a global fanbase. While each story follows different protagonists, both take place in the same world—a connection that will carry over into the live-action adaptations.
Iseop’s Romance centers on Tae Iseop, a seemingly perfect third-generation chaebol who excels at everything except dating, and Kang Min Kyung, a capable and driven employee known as TK Group’s secret weapon. The series follows their chaotic office romance as opposites collide.
A Casual Lie, meanwhile, focuses on Tae Jun Seop, the polished and highly regarded grandson of TK Group’s chairman, and copywriter Yeon Woo Kyung, whose life becomes entangled in a fierce succession battle within the conglomerate. Their story blends romance with corporate intrigue.
Lee Jong Suk and Lee Jun Hyuk will each take on one of the lead roles, with their characters connected as cousins within the TK Group family, further tying the two series together. The dual projects are expected to feature both swoon-worthy office romance and a rivalry over inheritance, adding a layer of bromance between the two male leads.
The series are being produced by Bon Factory, known for romance hits like Lovely Runner and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, along with Ace Factory, the studio behind the Stranger series, and A-Man Project. With both stories set in the same universe, the productions are aiming to be developed in tandem, with filming scheduled to begin later this year.
