A popular K-pop singer is at the center of a “secret child” controversy.
According to a February 19th report from MHN Sports, A shares a child born in 2022 with a woman, whom he previously dated. It has not been confirmed whether he has legally acknowledged the child.
A source close to the singer told the outlet that the singer has been providing financial support related to the child’s upbringing. However, the exact amount and how it was calculated have not been disclosed, and it remains unclear whether there has been any formal legal acknowledgment or an official agreement on child support.
Under current civil law, a child born outside of marriage is only legally recognized as the father’s child after a formal acknowledgment process by the biological father.
