Disney+’s original series Made in Korea is riding a major wave of buzz following its explosive finale, with viewers calling it one of the strongest Korean series they have seen in years.
Set against South Korea in the 1970s, a time marked by both upheaval and rapid growth, the series follows Baek Gi Tae (Hyun Bin), a ruthless businessman determined to turn the nation itself into a profit engine, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), who pursues him with near-obsessive resolve. As their clash unfolds across era-defining events, the show builds into a high-stakes confrontation that kept audiences hooked through its final episode.
Reaction to the finale has been especially intense. Viewers flooded social platforms with praise for director Woo Min Ho’s meticulous, cinematic approach. Comments ranged from “This is Hitchcock-level direction in a Korean series” to “A masterclass in refined Korean noir,” highlighting the show’s confident visual language and tension-driven storytelling.
Audience satisfaction has been equally loud. “Korean productions at their best,” wrote one viewer, while another added, “I rarely leave reviews, but this is the best thing I’ve watched in a long time.” Praise for the cast was just as strong, with many singling out Hyun Bin’s performance. “This made me see Hyun Bin in a completely new light,” one comment read.

The finale has also fueled anticipation for what could come next. “It makes you wonder which chapter of history a next season would tackle,” one fan noted, while others declared plans for immediate rewatches: “Time to binge it all over again. Watching it N times until Season 2.”
With the rivalry between Baek Gi Tae and Jang Geon Young reaching its peak, Made in Korea delivered a finale that pushed tension and momentum to the limit, exceeding expectations and leaving a lasting aftertaste.
