BLACKPINK is officially making their long-awaited return.

YG Entertainment announced on January 15th that the group will release their third mini album, DEADLINE, on February 27th. The news was shared via a comeback teaser video posted to the label’s official blog.

The release marks BLACKPINK’s first album-length project in three years and five months, following their 2022 sophomore full-length album BORN PINK. While the group dropped the digital single JUMP last July, the members have largely focused on individual activities, showcasing four distinct solo identities during the group’s hiatus.

YG explained that the album title DEADLINE shares its name with BLACKPINK’s record-setting world tour, which kicked off last July at Goyang Sports Complex and traveled across the globe. According to the label, the comeback is meant to serve as a finale to a journey defined by emotional connection with fans worldwide.

Although major production elements, including the music video shoot, were completed early, the agency noted that additional time was spent refining the album’s overall quality. As a result, the release was pushed from late last year into early 2026.

“We sincerely thank fans for waiting so patiently,” YG said in a statement. “We plan to repay that patience with music that meets the highest standard.”

BLACKPINK is currently wrapping up their world tour, with finale shows scheduled for January 16th–1th8 at Tokyo Dome, followed by January 24th–26th at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.
