Ahn Jae Hyun recently addressed long-standing rumors and revealed a behind-the-scenes story fans hadn’t heard before.

The actor appeared on Topgaybox, the YouTube talk show hosted by Hong Seok Cheon, where the conversation turned candid—and unexpectedly heartfelt.

Ahn Jae Hyun recalled being popular even before his modeling debut, sharing that during his school days, he would bring an extra bag on Pepero Day just to carry all the gifts. “I’d even go to school late on purpose,” he said with a laugh, admitting he didn’t mind the attention. Hong Seok Cheon chimed in, praising Ahn’s looks as the kind that naturally appeals to everyone, regardless of gender.

One of the most talked-about topics from that period, however, was the so-called “gay rumor” that followed Ahn during his modeling career. Rather than bristle at it, Ahn offered an unexpected response. “Honestly, I was grateful,” he said with a laugh. “At the time, the fashion industry was very focused on women’s wear, and I think people said that because I pulled those looks off well.” To him, the rumor felt less like an insult and more like recognition of his versatility as a model.

Ahn also shared new details about the legendary music video for K. Will’s “Please Don’t…,” which starred him alongside Seo In Guk and became a global talking point for its dramatic twist ending. “I had no idea the ending would be that shocking,” Ahn admitted. “I only found out what the final scene was after all the filming was done.”

The project ended up being a turning point. Afterward, Ahn met privately with Seo In Guk and K.Will to suggest working together again, which ultimately led to the follow-up track “No Sad Song For My Broken Heart” last year.

Meanwhile, Ahn married actress Koo Hye Sun in 2016, though the two later divorced in 2020.
