First-generation K-pop legend Lee Min Woo of Shinhwa has officially welcomed a new addition to his family.
The 46-year-old star took to social media to announce the birth of his daughter on December 9th, sharing a heartwarming photo of himself cradling the newborn.
“We met our precious child in good health,” Lee wrote. “Being by my wife’s side through the entire pregnancy and delivery has been an incredibly grateful experience. It made me realize once again that becoming a parent is truly no easy feat.”
He continued with a touching tribute to his partner: “Above all, I want to express my deepest gratitude and respect to my wife, who endured so much. As Lee Min Woo of Shinhwa and as the head of a family, I pledge to continue doing my absolute best.”
He signed off with a message to his fans and a shoutout to his daughter’s nickname: “Thank you to everyone who congratulated us on the birth. May our family of four be happy! Nice to meet you, Yangyang.”
Lee Min Woo recently legally registered his marriage to Lee Ami, a Zainichi Korean woman 11 years his junior. The couple is now a family of four, as Lee Ami has a daughter named Lia from a previous marriage.
While they are already legally married, the couple plans to hold a formal wedding ceremony on March 29 of next year. In a display of the group’s lasting bond, fellow Shinhwa members Jun Jin and Andy are set to officiate the event.
