Park Seo Joon‘s highly anticipated return to romance dramas isn’t making waves in the ratings just yet.
JTBC’s Surely Tomorrow aired its second episode on the 7th, showing Lee Kyung Do (played by Park Seo Joon) racing to stop his first love Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An) from leaving the country.

But despite the dramatic cliffhanger, the episode pulled just 3.6% in Seoul and 3.3% nationwide (Nielsen Korea)—a modest turnout for his first romance project in seven years.
The drama picked up one month after Seo Ji Woo’s divorce made headlines. A surprise scandal suddenly accused Kyung Do of being the cause, after photos surfaced of the two talking at a café the day she visited his office. To calm the chaos at work and inside his own heart, Kyung Do and his boss planned to reframe their relationship as a long-standing friendship by reuniting their old college theater club for a group photo.
But asking Seo Ji Woo for help wasn’t easy. He had already told her they should never meet again. Before he could work up the courage, she showed up at his apartment — and caught him wearing their matching shirt from 18 years ago. “You kept wearing it until it stretched out because you missed me, didn’t you?” she teased.
gyeongdo is still wearing the same exact polo from 18 years ago and jiwoo saw it 😭 obviously he has not moved on yet >< #SurelyTomorrow #SurelyTomorrowEp2 pic.twitter.com/AjUHI5abOl

Seo Ji Woo ultimately agreed, and their club reunited for the first time in years—falling right back into their old, playful rhythm. Even Kyung Do and Ji Woo, trying to keep their distance, couldn’t hide their lingering feelings.
After the shoot, Seo Ji Woo apologized for pulling him into trouble again. Kyung Do reassured her softly: “You never dragged me into anything.”

Just when both thought they could walk away again, Seo Ji Woo’s older sister (Lee El) revealed she has Alzheimer’s and pleaded with Kyung Do: “Please hold onto Ji Woo.”
Struggling with the weight of the request, Kyung Do ultimately acted on instinct—blocking Seo Ji Woo at the airport, grabbing her luggage, and forcing her to chase after him in shock. The episode closed on a charged moment, hinting their story is far from over.
