The production team of MBC’s hit variety show I Live Alone has decided to suspend comedian Park Na Rae‘s appearances following her announcement that she will temporarily step back from all entertainment activities.

The show’s producers released an official statement on December 8th addressing the controversy surrounding the star.

“We apologize for the delay in our official statement, as we aimed to judge the recent claims regarding Park Na Rae with fairness,” the team stated.

They emphasized that they did not take the matter lightly. “The I Live Alone production team diligently conducted internal discussions, including fact-checking,” the statement read. “We have decided to halt Ms. Park Na Rae’s appearance on the show, taking into consideration the gravity of the matter and her own intention to suspend her activities.”

Park Na Rae announced a complete suspension of her entertainment career on the same day.

“I have decided to suspend my broadcasting activities until everything is cleanly resolved,” Park stated. “As a comedian whose profession is to bring laughter and joy, I believe I can no longer cause inconvenience to the program and my colleagues.”

Meanwhile, over the weekend, comedian Park Na Rae faced allegations of receiving unauthorized medical treatments at her home. Questions have also been raised regarding the credentials of the woman who performed the procedures. Although the woman claimed to have served as a medical professor at the Inner Mongolia Pogang Medical College Hospital, the existence of this hospital could not be verified in official records. Park’s side has denied any illegal activity.

Additionally, it was revealed that Park Na Rae’s mother wired 10 million won ($7,000 USD) to each of Park’s former managers, though the funds were subsequently returned. The former managers have accused Park of verbal abuse, workplace bullying, and illegal proxy prescriptions, announcing plans to file a 100 million won ($70,500) lawsuit for damages. In response, Park has countersued them for extortion.
