Netflix has released the official poster and main trailer for its upcoming unscripted series Culinary Class Wars 2, raising excitement with a powerful “white-spoon” chef lineup—and the surprise appearance of two mystery challengers.

The hit series follows “black-spoon” chefs from outside the mainstream culinary world attempting to overturn the hierarchy using only one thing: taste. Standing in their way are Korea’s top “white-spoon” celebrity chefs, ready to defend their prestige in a fierce, no-holds-barred cooking class war.

In the newly unveiled poster, the white-spoon chefs’ bold energy takes center stage. The list includes Michelin-two-star chef Lee Jun, Michelin-one-star chefs Son Jong Won (Korean cuisine) and Ven. Seonjae (temple cuisine), 57-year Chinese cuisine master Hoo Deok Juk, 47-year French cuisine veteran Park Hyo Nam, celebrity chefs Jung Ho Young, Sam Kim, Raymond Kim, MasterChef Korea Season 4 judge Song Hoon, and Korean Food War Season 3 winner Lim Seong Geun.

The main trailer gives a first look at the sharpened knives and battle-ready “black-spoon” chefs—whose résumés are anything but ordinary. The barbecue lab director boasts, “I can hold my own on the global stage,” while another says, “I’ve only ever worked at the best restaurants.” From the self-proclaimed “three-star killer” and “Prince of Seochon” to a culinary scientist and a “wok rider” of Chinese cuisine, the lineup promises unpredictable clashes in the kitchen.

This season also introduces a major twist. “The new season brings a new set of rules,” the trailer teases—followed by the mysterious entrance of two hidden contestants saying, “I guess I’m Mr. Do-over.” Their identities and the meaning behind their surprise return remain tightly under wraps.

Culinary Class Wars made history as Netflix Korea’s first variety show to rank No. 1 globally for three consecutive weeks in the Non-English TV category. It also became the first to take the top spot in Gallup Korea’s “Koreans’ Favorite Programs” survey in September 2024, reflecting its massive domestic and global popularity.

Culinary Class Wars 2 premieres worldwide on Netflix on December 16th.
