Netflix has set a December 16th release date for Culinary Class Wars 2.
The hit competition series—driven by underdog “black-spoon” chefs trying to overturn the hierarchy through pure talent, and the elite “white-spoon” star chefs fighting to protect their status—unveiled its new underdog poster and teaser on November 18th.
The freshly revealed poster teases an even fiercer culinary class war inside the show’s signature main kitchen. The image brims with the wild, competitive energy of chefs specializing in Korean, Western, Chinese, Japanese, and fusion cuisine.
The teaser highlights an imposing lineup of white-spoon chefs: Lee Jun, a two-Michelin-star chef; Son Jong Won, who boasts one Michelin star each in Korean and Western dining; Ven. Seonjae, Korea’s first certified master of temple cuisine, and Hu Deok Juk, a 57-year veteran master of Chinese cooking. Their presence sets the stage for a high-stakes showdown.
Their rivals—this season’s black-spoon contenders—ratchet up anticipation even further with fiery remarks: “I’ve been waiting for this,” “I’m going to pour out everything I’ve got,” “Time to make my name known around the world,” and “I came to win.”
Season 1 delivered a rush of intensity and satisfaction as white-spoon chefs fought to defend their status while black-spoon challengers tried to break through the culinary caste system. It became the first Korean variety show to top Netflix’s Global TOP 10 TV (Non-English) list for three weeks, and it was also the first OTT variety show to rank No. 1 in Gallup Korea’s “Koreans’ Favorite Program” survey in September 2024.
Producers Kim Hak Min and Kim Eun Ji said, “We’re grateful for the tremendous, unexpected love Season 1 received. We poured everything into Season 2 to repay that support, so we hope viewers will cheer on every chef stepping into this new season.
