Cha Eun Woo’s agency, Fantagio, has issued an apology after fans accidentally dialed the wrong numbers during a phone-based promotional event for the singer’s upcoming album, causing unintended disruptions.
Fantagio released a statement on its official social channels, writing, “Some users have mistakenly dialed incorrect numbers during the ARS event, leading to calls being made to unrelated parties. We ask everyone to check the number carefully before calling.”
The ASTRO member launched the phone event on November 4th to promote his second solo album ELSE. Fans who called the designated number could hear a pre-recorded message from Cha himself.
In the message, the singer greets, “Hello? It’s Eun Woo. How have you been?” before continuing warmly, “Did you hear my news? I told you I’ve got everything ready. What do you think of my album? You’re excited, right? Please look forward to it—and don’t forget to eat well and think of me. I miss you.”
Fans who reached the correct number described the experience as “heart-fluttering,” with even non-fans praising the unique promotional concept.
However, as call traffic surged, many users entered the number incorrectly—flooding unrelated phone lines. Reports suggest more than 100,000 calls were made in total. Fantagio later apologized, stating, “We sincerely apologize to anyone affected by this issue.”
Cha Eun Woo appears to have meticulously prepared both his album and acting projects before his military enlistment. His film The First Ride premiered on October 29th, and his second solo album ELSE is set for release soon.
The star enlisted in the army on July 28th, completing basic training and currently serving in the Ministry of National Defense’s military band. He was selected as a platoon leader during training and recognized as an exemplary recruit at the completion ceremony. Most recently, on October 31st, he made headlines when he appeared out of uniform as the MC for the APEC 2025 welcome banquet in Gyeongju.
Meanwhile, Cha’s upcoming Netflix series The Wonder Fools is scheduled for release in the first half of next year.
